From the fertile lowlands of the Mekong River valley to the rugged Annamite highlands, Laos is the highlight of Southeast Asia. The architectural contrasts between the North and the South allow visitors to learn about the history and foreign influences on the country. Luang Prabang is an excellent place to find locally produced handicrafts and hand-woven textiles.





    DAY 1:  ARRIVAL - VIENTIANE   (B, -)


    On arrival at the airport, our guide will wellcome you in outside and then pick up you  to your hotel. Vientiane is a fascinating capital, with a fusion of Lao, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, French, and American influences. This charming and easy going city will provide a smooth introduction to Laos.

    After a short rest, we begin our orientation walking tour around the Lao capital, and finishing with a relaxing drink and over looking a Mekong River sunset.

    DAY 2:    VIENTIANE - LUANG PRABANG  (Flight)    (B, -)

    After breakfast, Our guide will come and take you go to explore the major sights of the capital:  including the oldest temlpe Wat Sisaket, the temple contains thousands of miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple of Wat Prakeo, which previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image.

    On the way to Lao’s national icon, is the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop enroute to take some pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is well known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph. And then we visit the central or ‘Morning Market’ which is a great place for browsing antiques, handmade textiles and gifts.

    In the afternoon, we spend time to visiting the National Museum (closed Tuesday) formerly known as the Revolutionary Museum, which exhibits artifacts, photos and legends of Laos’s history fighters and leaders from the ancient times to the new revolution period. Later, we will have short flight transfer to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage City, Luang Prabang city, which is the best  preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia.

    On arrival, we transfer you to your hotel. After a short rest, we stroll around the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of textiles made by the local and the hilltribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. After climbing up to the top of Phousi Mountain  for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as viewing a beautiful and panoramic sunset over the Ancient city and the Mekong River.

    DAY 3:    LUANG PRABANG  - PARK OU CAVE     (B, -)


    After breakfast in the morning, we enjoy a short-guided tour seeing the city’s oldest temple of impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat AhamWat Mai, Wat Seneand the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong with its roofs sweeping low to the ground, which represents classical Laotian architecture.

    Then we embark on a cruise journey  upstream along the Mekong river to visiting Pak Ou Caves, which also gives us a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as exploring the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims.

    On the way, we will stop at the Ban Xanghai village, where the local rice wine is produced. On our way back , we take a short drive to other small villages, Ban Xiengmene and Ban Chan, continue seeing the royal temple at Wat Longkhoun and Ban Phanom village, which well known for its hand weaving, you will have time for learning about traditional weaving.

    An optional, If you wake up in the early morning, you will have the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (often in the form of sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the ritual. You can also visit Phousi Market in the morning where you canl see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.

    Laos is also known for traditional crafts, So i you will have the opportunity to visit the local village of the Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Ban Ou, and Ban Thapene villages in the morning. After visiting the villages, we drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you may  wish cool in the inviting pools or walk along the forest paths. We will return to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon, It's time for the sunset at Wat Siphouthabath.

    DAY 5:     LUANG PRABANG - DEPARTURE   (Flight)      (B, -)

    After breakfast, we visit the National Museum (closed Tuesdays) at the former Royal Palace.  It displays a collection of artefacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture dating from the days of the early kings right through to the last sovereign. There will also have  time for us to look around the Central Market to know more about the life style of Lao people. Then  you wil transferred to the airport for your flight.

    The tour ends after your transfer to the airport for departure.
